Talk with your family. Set a date that no one has any prior engagement. There's no reason you should do it alone.

9.
Make a list so everyone is on the same page and knows what they are doing. Try making your list at the time you talk with your family. That way everyone is on the same page. And that way, on the big cleaning day, just a simple reminder will do.

8.

Get your supplies before the big cleaning day arrives! Having everything  you need on hand can keep you motivated and on task! You're more likely to get things accomplished.

7.
Ok I know these aren't healthy, But they are so yummy!

Buy healthy snacks and drinks and plan for short breaks throughout the day. This gives you and your family something to look forward to and a break.

6.

Get your kids involved by hiding change in each room/area being cleaned. Give a reward of your choosing per total amount of change. (This applies only if they are actually cleaning and not just searching  for change)

5.
Make sure chores are age appropriate, if your child is too young, maybe getting a babysitter might be a good idea. If you have pets, put the dog out in the back yard and the cat in the bedroom for a while.

4.
or at least to silent

Avoid any distractions. Turn off your cell phone and computer.

3.

Play some upbeat music! Let each family member choose a CD to play.

2.

De-clutter with a laundry basket, or something similar. One for trash, one for another room, one for getting rid of/donating, ect.
