Losing A Pet

A few years ago, on the way back from a friend’s house, I found my cat had just died from being hit by a car. Naturally I was hysterical, and spent a few days grieving. The house felt empty without him running through, or bugging me for attention. I had only owned him about a year and already formed a unique bond with him.

Now, I own Jake, my little dog. I’ve had him for about 7 years, and most people laugh at me when I say he’s like my kid, but he is. I’ve watched him grow from a pup, helping guide him, to be a well behaved, great dog. I couldn’t imagine my life without him. I take him many places and often have the most fun just watching him enjoy himself and explore when we are out.

A family member and friend of mine had to put her cat down yesterday because it was old and getting sick. Many people do not understand the type of bond that one can make with a pet. It’s like a piece of you is gone forever. It’s like an emptiness that can never be filled.

To my family member and the household,
I am so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine what you are going through. I know he was your sidekick, and he had quite a personality! You made his quality of life so much better and I could tell that he loved you guys and was happy. You guys are in my thoughts. I hope that you can find peace with what you’re dealing with.

What I've Been Working On

I've got some great news! A couple years ago I got locked out of one of my yahoo accounts and at first I wasn't concerned, I made a new account and went on my way.. Then last year I realized my flickr account was linked to that yahoo account and I couldn't get on it. I needed to keep that flickr account because the address was printed in a book that I designed a cover for.
For months I went back and forth with yahoo customer service getting nowhere because I couldn't remember my information.
Last week I got a hold of a phone number and so Monday, I spent most of the morning on the phone with yahoo customer service trying to prove I was the owner.
Long story short, 3 people, and hours later, I recovered my password! And I have my Flickr account back!

So I've started uploading photos I've had and started organizing them. A big thank you to my Aunt who is currently helping me add tags and titles and all that.

On the task bar where is says photography, click photos. It will take you to my flickr albums. There, you can view, comment, and share photos! Would love it if you could give my account some new traffic! It hasn't seen any since 2011! wow.

Last Saturday I photographed a family members wedding and took tons of photos. The lighting wasn't too good so I've had to brighten almost all the photos. It's been a lot of work so far and I still have quite a few photos left.

This weekend my niece is supposed to be coming to visit for a week before I bring her to camp. A friend is coming to stay with us for a month because money has been really tight on both our ends. And lil man is having a birthday party with live animals on Sunday! Sounds like a chance to take some great pictures!

Also, keep your eyes out for a post coming soon to giveaway a text customized T-Shirt! Maybe in the next couple weeks!

I also want to take a second and bring attention to those affected by the drought in the Midwestern US. We should keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

Words for Divorced Parents

I came across something on Facebook that I couldn't help sharing.

All too often kids are caught in the middle and that is never OK

When Giveaways Go Bad

I am appreciative of my readers and visitors. I know I don't post as often as I used to but when I post a deal I find, I apply for it too, so I know exactly what it asks for and I know it works. When I post about life, or wordless Wednesday, I try to be real about who I am, or try to give advice in a top ten. When I'm able to host a giveaway, I feel honored to be able to reward someone who comes to my blog with a gift. Something to remember KreativeKaring by. I would never fake a giveaway, or lie to get readers and followers.

I had someone tweet me recently saying they never got their prize from a giveaway back in April. While I do feel awful about it, I do want to mention that I tweeted, messaged, and emailed this person about it and waited weeks before giving it away to someone else.

To anyone entering in giveaways - some friendly advice: Keep track of all the giveaways you entered in. That way, if an email gets lost in the junk folder, or maybe the giveaway didn't say they were going to email the winner, it's always good to keep track of it all. After all, you're spending your time entering in each of them anyways. Also, don't forget to check your spam folder!

To any bloggers who have had the opportunity to host giveaways,

  • Any scary angry giveaway stories?
Again I do apologize if anyone has missed out on a prize because of a miss-communication, but it does happen.

Happy Independence Day!

Yes, it's been a while since I've posted anything on here. Between vehicles breaking down and bills falling behind, we've been struggling to get back on our feet. Oh well, it happens, right?

I wanted to jump on here and wish everyone a Happy 4th of July!
July 4 is a reminder of what Americans were prepared to do to achieve freedom, and what we are constantly prepared to do again!
Happy Independence Day!

I'm hoping to go to the Parade today to take pictures. Weather Permitting of course

If I handed you a business card that brought you to this post, click here to be brought to my Facebook photography page to check out the photos from the 4th.
(It may take a couple days for editing so don't forget to check back!)
